Canadian Consumers Be Aware Of The Deceivers
Last year Direct Energy came to my door and I signed up with them. I wanted to get out of this agreement but they told me it was for 5 years. It would cost me $521.67 to get out. Now I just got a new letter stating it will cost me $633.21 to get out. I have no intention on paying this whatsoever. I believe the consumer needs to be warned. Consumer Beware of Direct energy Scam.
I was not told there would be a cost to get out whatsoever. I just had a heart attack prior to this agreement. I though I was signing up with who I had in the first place which was not the case. The mixup was we did have Union Energy with our gas with them and we had no problem with them but this hydro thing is totally a scam in my eyes. I magine if you decided to buy anything and decided you didn't want it but this company decides it's going to charge you for it. Totally disgusting.
I'm not afraid to say I was taken but they should of told me in the first place that there would be a charge to get out. I find them crooked as can be. They were advertising on television that to get out there was no cost. When I asked an agent about this after three phone calls they told me that was only in the States. I plan on putting a sign up on my lawn telling Direct Energy to stay off my property and to keep their Deceivers away. I want this out in the open so others can be aware of what this Company is all about.
