I am the US Citizen whom Christine Radey stole from when "renting" out "her" apartment. Christine claimed to be the owner of an apartment she has listed on Craigslist. Christine showed the apartment, claimed she had owned it and was in the middle of upgrading. Christine had let me know that she had two others interested in the apartment, but really just wanted to get rid of it. If I was willing to sign the papers immediately and move-in, the apartment was mine.
I offered her lowering than her asking price and she accepted. I let her know that I needed a few days to finish looking at some of the other apartments and I would call her over the weekend. The next day, Christine sent me this e-mail:
"Hi Amy,
Just checking in. I am really hoping that we can get the deposit and lease signed tomorrow. I really want you to have the apartment but you can understand that i am nervouse and if I were to wait till Friday and something happens it does not give me much time to start showing and rent it out again.
Please let me know the status and what you can do to make this happen for tomorrow. We then can meet tomorrow night to get it all wrapped up.

I called Christine later that day and accepted her offer. I returned to the apartment to sign the lease and transfer my funds as I was to leave for the US for the holidays. Christine let me know that she would leave the keys with concierge. She had also arranged for me to have a parking spot. I paid her first and last month's rent, signed the lease and left for the holidays.
The day prior to my return, Christine sent me the following e-mail:
"Hi Amy, I hope you are having a nice holdiday. I am in a bit of a situation and hope we can work together for a solution. Over the holidays me and my finance have decided to break up. This puts me in a situation of needing my place. I am willing to still rent it to you but would need a week or so to get myself situated somewhere else. Would you have a place to stay for another week? I will try and sort it out as quick as possible.
I am very sad and have only been able today to deal with this in in hopes that it wasnt happening, so I am so sorry for the short notice. Please let me know if you can make accomodations and i will compensate you for the loss of the week. Please let me know when you get this. Thanks and again so sorry for the inconvenience but we will work something out. Chris"
I, being a decent human being, made other accommodations for the week so that she may have time to get herself together. I should have known better. I spent all week contacting Christine trying to coordinate a time to pick up the keys so that I could move my things in. She failed to return any e-mails or phone calls. Finally, Friday evening of that week, the night before I was to move-in (for the second time), Christine texted me saying I was still unable to move-in citing the same reasons. She said she had no reception to call me, but hoped I would understand.
I then began researching and found this website, and other offenses she has incurred. I immediately called the police, and they met me at the apartment in question. After a significant amount of time, the police realized she had, indeed, fraud me and were immediately pressing charges upon my consent. There is currently an arrest warrant out from my case.
I have since found other lodging, but am appalled and have not completely recovered from the incident. I am currently researching a civil suit. Christine sent an e-mail to me about a week after the incident, to add insult to injury, I assume:
"Hi Amy, Not sure what is going on. Please let me know where you are at and your intentions. I did not mean for this to go this far and am quite aware of the situation. You can do what you want but both know at this point is not a good situation. I will forward you the amount I owe you but please let me know the other costs you have so I can include that as well.
I was willing to work with you but obviously you have taken this on your own accord and have taken this to another unnecessary level. Please provide me with your account information so I can get back to you what is owed to you. You knew my situation and I cannot believe that you feel that I have taken you, not the case at all.
I do apologize for your situation and feel sick that you have gone the route you did. I am not that person. I can mail you or email what is owed to you, please let me know what you would like. Chris"
I'm sure you're thinking the same as I was, unbelievable. Since then, no arrest has been made and Christine has not attempted to contact me. I sincerely hope they catch this woman. She is a leech upon society and needs to be stopped immediately.
