Pareto Logic
And affiliates who pose as independent blew up my computer and did not support me at all

Hi complaint people,

thank you for being there, even if you cannot help me or worse the people who will also experience the pain caused by Pareto Logic without remorse or responsibility.

I bought the registry cleaner Reg Cure from one of many references which I have since discovered are NOT independent recommendations, but highly paid affiliates of Pareto Logic.

On the first pass, I ran the software and it found many problems, then I purchased the software and it ran the cleanup of the registry. Upon restart, I cannot boot the machine. In addition, I cannot restore to an earlier time. Pareto Logic is taking no responsibility whatsoever, and only recommends that I reinstall my operating system (and everything else!).

No one will even get on the phone with me.

It is unconscionable that a company is allowed to cause so much damage, and not at least try to help.

Incidentally, when I put my error code into google, it came up with a number of supposed help sites all pointing to pareto logic to purchase reg cure!!

What a scam.

It is similar to the horrible downloads of spyware to force you to buy their spyware cure.

These people should be shut down.

Beware all of this scam.

The following is some of the correspondance with Pareto.

Hello Ferd,

Thank you for your email.

In an effort to provide the most effective support for our customers, we have opted to concentrate our efforts and resources through our in-house, online customer support team. We have chosen not to list our telephone number on our website as we have found that customers and others seeking product information would often attempt to receive complex information, instructions, and case sensitive license key information by calling our corporate number. Using telephone communication for this purpose results in a frustrating, ineffective, and time consuming result for our customers and as such we use email as our main communication method. This facilitates the exchange of information in an accurate and unequivocal manner that expedites the resolution of any questions, concerns, or difficulties a customer or interested third party might have.

We invite you to contact us at our Customer Support Department, located at: https://support.paretologic.com/. If you require technical assistance, using this email will allow us to request and receive screen captures and log files (don't worry, we can explain to you how to send them!) enabling us to help solve the issue quickly and effectively.

We regret to inform you that in order for our technical support team to assist you further with this matter, we would require you to have access to your Windows Operating System install disks.

To better assist you with this issue, it would be in your best interest to contact somebody who has access to this material.

Once you have obtained the installation disks, please do not hesitate to contact our technical support team.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further assistance!

Sincerely,

Peter

Hi Tara,

I have tried going back several months to system restore, to no avail.

Can we get on the phone and try a few things?

I tried your software in good faith, and now cannot use my computer at all. Only in safe mode, which will not even allow me to see the entire screen.

It has been 2 weeks that I am now without a computer, and have to use someone else's when it is available.

The only thing that I did was run your software.

I no longer have my original install disks, so I am going to probably have to replace the ENTIRE COMPUTER if you cannot help me.

Thank you,

Hello Ferd,

Thank you for your email.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. We do not know why you would
be experiencing this. Perhaps you can use the Windows System Restore tool to
return your computer to a previous working state. This function can be accessed
from Safe Mode if there are issues with your regular windows logon.

Here is an article from the Microsoft Support Knowledgebase which describes how
to restore the operating system to a previous state in Windows XP.

1) Please follow these instructions to restart the computer into Safe Mode. As
soon as the first screen loads, begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. Do so
until the Windows Advanced Options menu appears. Use the arrow keys to choose
Safe Mode. Then press Enter to start booting into Safe Mode. Once in safe-mode
you will know you're in because the graphics won't look as good.

2) Press the 'Start' button and navigate to 'All Programs >
Accessories > System Tools'. Select the 'System Restore' icon to
open the System Restore Tool.

3) On the 'Welcome to System Restore' page proceed to 'Restore my
computer to an earlier time' (if it is not already selected). Follow the
onscreen instruction to restore the computer to a date before you experienced
this issue. System Restore will then restore to the previous Windows XP
configuration, and restart the computer.

** If you can not access the start menu or icons the System Restore function
can be accessed through a command line as described in the following Microsoft
article.

Windows XP:

Type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:

Windows Vista:

Kind regards,
