ParetoLogic
Software - ParetoLogic master ripoff artists

ParetoLogic is a software company. They developed RegCure and an Anit-virus software. This story is two fold.

In October 2008, ParetoLogic sent an email advertising RegCure for $29.95. I had read some positive reviews about RegCure, so I decided to purchase the software.

I paid via PayPal but recieved a confirmation email from SafeCart, not for $29.95 but for 39.90. ParetoLogic also "sold" me a software program named Privacy Controls 2.0 without my knowledge or consent. I did not install the software. I contacted ParetoLogic but they ignored me.

I contacted PayPal to withhold payment of the additional $9.95 but they refused. I immediately stopped using PayPal.

After running RegCure, I began receiving error messages from programs that were installed on my PC. I contacted their support center and was told "Yeah that happens sometimes, just restore to the day before and you won't receive the errors. That was the solution. They should save money on helpdesk techs and just have that answer automated.

In April 2009 I ran a "complimentary" scan of my PC for the Conficker virus. ParetoLogic installed a complete version of their Anti-virus software, disabled my McAfee and after the scan sought payment for the Anti-virus software to clean my system. I removed the software from my system and McAfee sent error messages that my PC was not protected, which it normally does. I tried to fix the problem with McAfee's fix tool but that failed, several times.

I contactetd McAfee support and after several attempts to clear the problem, I was instructed to remove and re-install McAfee. Problem solved, no thanks to ParetoLogic. BUT the story does not end there.

I started receiving an error message related to ParetoLogic's anti-virus software trying to load a dll file. I contacted ParetoLogic via email and they sent an "apology for my inconvenience" and then told me to download the Anti-virus software for $89.99!!! They completely ignored the fact that I asked them for a solution to stop the error message.

When you see the name ParetoLogic or RegCure - delte the email as fast as you can. Oh, and if you are using PayPal be warned that if you have an issue with a vendor, PayPal will take the vendor's side, not yours.
