Cybertv-ib - Marketbill
Fraudulent charges to credit card Saint Laurent, Quebec

My employer contacted me about a charge that was made on his personal VISA card from cybertv-ib.com. They had placed a charge on his credit card for the amount of $75.60 and when he called the company, they told him that I had authorized the charge. I had no idea who this company was and told him I would call and find out what was going on because I had not used his credit card. I contacted the company and they stated that I had authorized the charge and that when my employer had contacted them yesterday, that he had agreed that the charge could be placed on the card.

I told the company I did not authorize the charge, that my boss did not authorize the charge, that I do not even have access to the credit card it was placed on, nor would I risk losing my job over something so minor as using a credit card that was not mine for "unlimited music and web tv downloads". The gentleman I talked to stated that I had done this back on March 7, 2007 and that because it was past the "7 day trial period" they could not do anything about removing the charges. He could not explain why it supposedly took 8 months for them to bill the credit card if I had indeed done this back in March.

The gentleman from the company wanted additional information from me, i.e., address, phone number, last 4 digits of my boss's credit card number, etc. so that he could "investigate this charge" or told me I could log onto www.marketbill.com and give "the information" and investigate myself. The call ended when I told him I was not going to give him any information and that I was going to contact the VISA card company and local authorities.

As soon as I got off the phone with cyber tv, I did contact the VISA company and asked them to reissue a new credit card for my employer (they verified with my employer that I was allowed to authorize the reissue of a credit card) and they were going to be sending me an affidavit as they would be pursuing this as a fraudulent charge. I also know it was fraud because they had the purchase by the name I go by for general stuff but not my true legal name for when I purchase things online. My boss kind of chuckled during the phone conversations because he knew after 7 years with him and having full access to his business checking accounts, business credit cards, etc and not having done anything like this, that I was telling the truth.

I still do not know how they got my name and his credit card number but if I was going to do something so stupid to risk my job, it would be over a BIG TICKET ITEM and not some little music download site. Be very careful when dealing with this company because somehow they are getting information that was not personally given to them.
