Ripoff dishonest and fraudelent hosting practices

I contacted NetFirms a year ago, after researching a relaible company to host my website. They seemed to have a good package, and were comparatively priced at only $19.99 per month, which had to be paid all in one lump sum of $239.88 /-. I went with them because they seemed to have a pretty good package, all in all, plus gave you 100 emails for your business, and a second domain name free.

They shipped me the CD and I installed the product, and began to design my website using their template. But, when it came to uploading the files, I was never able to either connect with their server effectively, or upload the files. I always received error messages that were barely discernible. I called the company numerous times and complained, and asked for help. Get this: their Customer Serive number is based in Canada, which means to get substanial help I would have to call all the way to Canada - long distance - and run up my phone bill to get help with my website. I would think that the pricy amount I paid was enough to warrant me a toll-free number; but no, their toll-free number was only dedicated to SALES; that is, customers calling in to buy their product.

I've called this company numerous times, all to no avail, in getting help. The additional software that came with their product, FILEZILLA, was supposed to be helpful with uploading files to their server. Didn't help. I still received the same error message time after time, and called numerous times to the company - using their toll-free number - for help and assistance which I never received. Now, a full year later, they are ready to rebill me, and I still have no working website! When I complained to the person who took the call, he asked how I wanted to resolve the matter; I asked either for a full refund of my money (no chance!), or at the very least a 30-month free trial to rectify the problems. I got neither, but instead the rep took my number and told me someone would 'perhaps' be calling me back to help resolve my inability to connect with their server, and to help me to upload my files. When I stopped him dead in his tracks after his statement of 'perhaps' ... he got quite flustured and upset, and tried to 'clean up' his statement, trying to assure me that help would be forthcoming. He needn't have bothered though; I can see how this company works! "Get the money and run" seems to be the procedure here, with little to no Customer Service, and huge phone bills when you have to call all the way to their Canada office!

If I had known then what I know now, I would have kept on going and tried to find some other, more reliable and fair, web hoster.
