Wizard Optical Centre
Mr. Ca

I encountered extremely rude customer service in dealing with an "senior representative", a middle-aged man who works at Wizard Optical Centre in Nelson Place. I believe his name is Mr. Carr. The other woman and younger man there were very personable so my complaint is only with this man who has already been suspended by the Opometry Association for poor customer service. I had to take my ex-husband there for new glasses as he is in a nursing home. I was not impressed with this man as he waited on my ex-husband but put it down to a late visit. When I needed additional information for a Medevie claim, I called and spoke with Mr. Carr. I only needed him to check the file and tell me if the requested lens were "single" or "progressive". I do not wear glasses and was somewhat unfamiliar with the terminology. This man refused to tell me this information and told me I had to come into the store in person, etc. I explained that I was home with a stress fracture and was not mobile. He started screaming into the phone and kept telling me he would not check on this. At the last minute, he told me to have Medevie call and he would tell them. I then said I needed to make an appointment and he told me to call back when I could speak to him in a pleasant voice and he hung up on me. I called back right away and again told him that I just needed an appointment date because my ex-husband was experiencing severe headaches from the new glasses and again he hung up on me. Two hours later I called back and in a very sweet voice got the appointment time and when he asked my name, I confirmed for him that he had already been speaking to me and that I had written a letter to Medevie and the BBB and hung up on him. I later found out that this was the cheapest place in town to get glasses but would never deal with them again. I will say that the blond woman and her son who work there provide the expected customer service. Why this man is still employed is beyond my understanding.
