This "Free Offer" is a major SCAM and Visa has told me that it is the single biggest SCAM they are dealing with right now. I have done a lot of internet shopping in my life and am always super careful, however this "Free Sample" for $6 Canadian, turned into Credit Card charges of $260 Monthly!!! I am a single mother and this represents a month of groceries and some creep who set this up is probably sitting back and enjoying the money rolling in from innocent victims.
Yes, Visa did state that "somewhere in the transaction I agreed to some terms and conditions" that meant there is nothing I can do, but trust me, as I said, I am very careful and this step of the request for sample must have been very sneakily tucked in somewhere that fooled me into thinking it was simply one of those usual steps in a transaction not an agreement to rob us like this.
I feel for everyone out there taken in this way, like myself. It is really sad that this company is going to harm all legitimate internet retailers because I for one have been stung hard and will NEVER make another internet purchase after this debacle.
Hopefully some British Consumer group will look into this quick and shut this down.
