On May 20, 2008, I ordered the Listen In sound amplifier device as advertised on TV. I watched the commercial and went to the their website. I placed an order for a $19.95 order plus s/h. There is no place on the website to check an itemized order to determine if you have properly entered your information and no place to make corrections. They sent me an email to confirm my $47.64 order. I immediately called them to cancel and replied to the email to cancel. Their email states 2-6 weeks for delivery and on the phone they confirm they are backordered. They did not cancel and shipped the device today, in only 6 days, with no invoice or billing information enclosed. I checked my credit card statement online and they have billed me for $53.83.
This is crazy! I called them to let them know that they were to cancel this order and that the device doesn't even work. I told their customer service rep that I had called to cancel this order and had replied to their email. She told me that you cannot reply to that email. I told her that the email does not state that you should not reply. I also told her that I had called on the day I ordered to cancel. However, they seemed to have no record of my cancellation call. How about that?
I told her the device is defective. I held it only 6 feet from my TV and could here nothing but squealing and horrible noises. I told her I tried everything - adjust volume, replace battery, reinsert headphones, but nothing works. She did not respond when asked why this ships without any invoice. She also did not respond when asked why their website is designed to lock people into order that may or may not be accurate. Nobody else does this.
She advised that they would credit my card with the full amount of purchase, minus s/h, and that the credit should appear within one week. I will be checking for that credit and take all necessary action should it not appear.
