ToyGlobe Aka Treasure Box Games
ToyGlobe Lord of the Rip-offs

On March 3, 2005, I sent two money orders to ToyGlobe; one was $79.84 for a pre-order of the Lord of the Rings Pelennor Fields Gift Set, Gothmog, and Dark Galadriel, order #90679. The other was $55.90 for the hard-to-find Faramir action figure, which was shown as 'in stock' at their website.

After waiting a reasonable amount of time, I contacted ToyGlobe to ask about the Faramir figure; a person named Morino gave me a tracking number: 1Z3RV8586890442353. I was able to track the package to the west coast of California, where I live, however it was delivered to someone else. I contacted UPS, and they gave me the name and phone number and address of the person who got the package, and they told me it really WAS his package- not mine.

I called ToyGlobe, and spoke again to Morino; He told me that my Faramir action figure had accidenally been put into this other person's package, so I would have to wait for it to be returned before they could ship it to me. I asked if they had another Faramir in stock, so I would not have to wait; they looked, and told me YES, and that they would ship it right away...

Meanwhile, I decided to call this other person who supposedly got my item by mistake. I explained the situation to him, and told him that it sounded 'fishy'. He told me that he received his order of Marvel Legends action figures, but he DID NOT get the Faramir figure in his package. I was not surprised. I waited to get a new tracking number for the second Faramir, but it never came in my e-mail.

I called ToyGlobe again, and Morino told me that "we have two Faramir figures in the wharehouse, but the packaging on both is slightly damaged, so we didn't want to ship one to you without seeing if it was ok first." He asked me if I would be willing to accept my item in this condition, and I said yes.

A week passed, and I still got no tracking number. I called again, and Goerge V. told me that, not only was the packaging damaged, but the actual figure itself was damaged; (both of them???) he asked me if I wanted it anyway, and I told him of course I did NOT. I called him back the next day, and he told me the figure was NOT IN STOCK at all. I asked him, "What about the original item that you shipped to that other guy by mistake- has he returned it to you yet? " (I didn't tell George that I had already spoken to this indevidual, for obvious reasons.) George answered, "We don't think he is going to return it to us."

Yeah. Sure. Blame someone else. Anyway, Later, I checked the ToyGlobe website, and saw that the Faramir figure was now $12.00 more than it had been when I ordered it- $59.95, and it was listed as IN STOCK! I spoke to Jade Winters; she seemed like the only semi-honest person working there; I told her that I knew everything that had been going on, and asked her what she could do about it. She said she was sorry, and offered me a refund. I asked her about the availability of a different figure: Grima Wormtongue. She checked with the wharehouse, and she assured me that it WAS in stock, so I asked her to substitute that one for the elusive Faramir. She said ok, and told me it would be shipped on the very next day, Thursday April 14th...

Meanwhile, to my shock and awe, I actually did receive PART of my pre-order; Pelennor Fields Gift Set, and Gothmog- but not Dark Galadriel, and still no tracking number for the Grima Wormtongue. I have sent several e-mails, none have been answered. I have tried to call, but now the phone number has been disconnected.

I have noticed on the ToyGlobe website that both of the items owed to me are listed as IN STOCK, but I have not received them to date. Nor have I got the slightest sign from ToyGlobe that they intend to ship anything. Jade Winters told me that she was no longer going to be working there, so I guess it's going to fall into the non-capable hands of Morino, or George V. to either ship my Dark Galadriel and Grima Wormtongue, (along with the refund for the difference in price of the Faramir: $13.00) or issue me a refund for $81.85. People, even if by some miracle you manage to get PART of your order, it's just not worth it.

This type of behavior, this petty thievery, should not be tolorated. Even if I get my items in the mail tomarrow, my opinion won't change. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out in the news someday that ToyGlobe was ripping people off, and funding Al Queda.
