A buddy of mine called me up one morning telling me there was a temporary job opportunity with this demolition company called Boulder Demolition Ltd... I've seen the logo on the side of their trucks.
The supervisor they had on staff had a habit of chasing anyway anyone that made him look bad, which was anyone who spoke English. He even found time to make fun of a little Korean guy because he doesn't understand English too well.
My third day, my buddy's 3rd week, we walked off the job (as did several before us) and were promptly understood and informed we would receieve payment the following Friday. That Friday we called to pick up our cheques, and were told it would be 'in the mail'. 3 weeks later, we tried to contact the 'boss' or Boulder Demolition Ltd. itself... but their listed number is no longer in service. Our boss? Has never picked up his phone is regards to either of us.
My buddy was smart enough to take a photo of his time card, by my second day the 'supervisor' said he would take care of it and I don't need to sign anything anymore.
