Since buddy there at the company gave me my paycheque so late. I'm here to write down the truth.
They are on the 2nd floor of the 9600 Cameron St. in Burnaby by Lougheed Town Centre
Anyone who has called you from there are pretty much under 25 - I started the job and was just told to call every ad on the Auto Trader magazines and tell the person to buy our service because we can guarantee their money back within 60 days (90, 30 whatever) or your money back.
I was asked to sit there and watch them hustle people (but not in those words) over the phone so that I can learn to do it too.
So yeah it sounds like a good deal - as most smart people do they just hang up on me and what not. Although I was able to get a few suckers to give me their credit card info over the phone - they asked for my name, so I gave them my made up name, Anthony whatever. I got their info and badabing badaboom - "BAM! sale" as they'd say it at the office there.
So there I was on the phone for 6 hrs a day, they people there are chills. Company meetings mean going outside by the parking lot smoking a doobie. Every day the place seemed to me to be more and more of a joke - I never seen anyone make the ads. All our job was to get the credit card info, description, blah blah blah (not to mention that the forms with all the CC info are kicking around everywhere - if you gave them your CC number... good luck).
So one day someone I know went to the office to speak with the dude that hired us. Next thing you know he jacked some weed out of our boss' desk drawer! I found this really amusing.
Anyways that same day there was a fax coming in from an angry customer. Same number on the call display... calling. What does my boss do? He checks the number on the system
Here is what the boss at NorthAmericanAutoMarket says:
"Oh, its that guy, probably wants his refund. Tori just don't answer the phone, then tommorow he'll call and his guarantee will be up then we wont have to worry about it"
My WORD - this is how bad they are.
So me and my homies are all chillin' one day just thinking about how f'd up this place really is. I didn't want to be part of it no more thinking that buddy wouldn't cough up my money just like he wouldn't his clients. I stopped showing for work cause I'm thinking that these people will get busted harsh soon.
I didnt get my paycheque until 2 weeks after payday.
It's really funny because when you go to their office they disguise themselves as "BuyCarsNow.ca" on the building suite directory.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that they have Vonage serviced telephones around the office with different national area codes. Everyone that calls from there is from around Burnaby (where the office is). Each person is assigned a map of other provinces they are not familiar with (Alberta, Sask., New Brunswick, etc.) and then sits at a phone that has the corresponding area code.
I used to live in Edmonton so at the time I was calling there. I'd go to a phone with a "780" sticker on it and start calling people with ads on the Edmonton auto trader [it doesn't even have to be AutoTrader, we can call anyone - even from craigslist if we bring our own laptops].
I can only imagine the faces of these people, I bet that they are reading this posting right now thinking "sh*t... we're screwed".
Some days we are told to look for complaints on the BBB website or other sites such as this one to make postings saying they're not true and what not.
I find it funny how I'm the only REAL ex-employee to talk about this company. They just have some money hungry young'ns trying to jive you out for you money.
For those who are not familiar with the lowermainland, New Westminster is right beside Burnaby - they are like one city practically. So it may very well say that they are located from there but they are not. Maybe because their telephone service provider location is there.
Anyways make a not, spread the word.
