BUYER BEWARE - It all started when I seen an ad in the local newspaper and in the Super Shopper "I have thousands of yards of carpet, I will carpet two rooms and a hallway for $389" something like that. I decided to call as I was already looking into having new carpet put in my house. I found that the ad was for burber - not what I wanted at all but they told me that they have normal carpet aswell.
A sales representive came over to my house and gave me a quote of approx $2400. I agreed while he was there to have it done, he called the head office from my phone and told them that I would like it done on Tuesday. He got off the phone and told me Tuesday was fine that they would be there around 10am.
Monday night at around 8:30pm a lady calls and tells me that she's calling to confirm that the installers will be there sometime in the afternoon. I explained that we were told 10am and that we had made arrangements for the day based on that. So she promised that she would call us back 15 minutes later she had to make a couple calls. We waited all night - no call.
I decided to call first thing Tuesday morning to find out what was going on RESPONSE - the installers will call you this morning..waited & waited..amd waited some more by this time it was already well after lunch so I called again RESPONSE - they will be there shortly... 3 hours later they arrived @ 3:30pm dropping pop cans on my lawn and speaking another language between themselves. I showed them around and told them I will be going out how long will they be RESPONSE - 4 hours.
Let me tell you how they did not finish until 10:30pm... oh sorry did I say finish that they did not. They told me at 10:30 that night that they were not sent with enough carpet to finish my stairs. My husband and I were livid considering all the other issues we had already had with this company - we asked what time tomorrow morning they wopuld be back RESPONSE - we have no control over that - call Main Office. 10:30 at night; nails sticking out of my stairs with no carpet, my 1 year old daughter whom I haven't been able to put to bed and a disaster of a mess to clean up after the installers.
Not mentioning the company I am having on Friday
We are now sitting here on FRIDAY 4DAYS LATER with an unfinished job with no idea when and if it will be finished and absolutely no compensation in any way for all of their mistakes, lies, imcompitence or the grief we have endured this last week. In these last few days we have been promised everyday that the job would be finished the next day then I wait no one comes and I have to call again to find out whats going on and everyday it's another excuse - the lastest one today was the installers van broke down???
Where are their other vans, other installers, backup plans??? We had even got in touch with the owner SCOTT NEWMAN and he refused to do anything to compensate for all the problems - we are paying $2400 for this job and like my husband told him to show some good customer service by even so little as to take $50 off and he wouldn't even do that, all he could do is what everyone eles in that company has done made false promises! BUYER BEWARE SUBURBAN CARPETS IS A SCAM - tell your friends, family and everyone you meet walking down the street! Don't be a victim like me!
