My wife purchased a $3000 Sofa Set (4 pieces) in all recently. She made the mistake of purchasing a set that is too big for our living room. At the store, given the size of the place, it is not easy to see with the naked eye, the size of a set. At home it is just not possible to place this set without taking up the entire living and dining area and that too the pieces are placed in an awful manner.
She called the store and spoke with Brenda, the Customer Service Supervisor, who told her, that is too bad as Leon's does not offer a return option. My wife asked her to just take back the set and we would even pay for the delivery charge so we could chose another set of equal or greater value. Nothing doing. The only option after much talking was a return, if we purchase a new set, but with a charge of 20% of the return value as a re-stocking fee.
There was also the issue of the Ottoman, which was damaged. This Leon's agreed to take back for a full refund.
I cannot believe a store can tell long standing customers who are not asking for money back, but only asking to exchange items for something of the same or higher value, to pay $500 as a re-stocking fee.
Jason the asst. manager of the store, a person, who I have yet to get in contact with as Brenda is the one who returns all calls, will not budge on this policy according to her.
Beware of Leon's Purchase is Final policy. This is not told to customers but is mentioned on the invoice. Better read each line before paying your hard earned money.
