I am disabled and live in subsidized housing my rent is $700 and my hydro is $500 for a 700 sq ft apt.! We have no air conditioning and never turn on the heat yet our hydro bill is always around $500 every two months. How are people to survive? In the winter I freeze but I cannot afford to turn on the heat. They installed smart metres and now our hydro bills are outrageously high, something needs to be done. the metres are located in a room within the building not individual units, these prices are criminal!
