Boyd Autobody
Ripped off, Lied to, took advantage of good nature, misled us to believe all the work was being done and it wasn't Ripoff

In Dec6 I was involved in a vehicle accident (not my fault) and after MPIC finally decided to repair the car it was taken to Boyd Autobody.

At Boyd Autobody they did the bodywork that needed to be done and then sent the car on to GW Transmission (1677 St Mary's Rd). There the transmission was checked out as we thought it had been damaged in the accident. We were told that it would cost $1800.00 to $2000.00 and then we found out they hadn't even torn it apart to see what was wrong. When they did finally tear it apart we were told the final bill for the transmission repair was $2229.48 and that it was not caused by the accident and we would have to pay it. This seems strange that we were told the same thing as before it had been torn apart but we had no choice so we paid it.

When I picked my car up on Feb 2/07 there were several things not put back on the car that were supposed to be and the paperwork said they were and my Command Start didn't work anymore and it had right after the accident. The car was so dirty you couldn't see out the windows and my power windows no longer worked. While going through the paperwork that was given to me there were two bills from GW Transmission. One for $1679.00 and the second for $2229.48. Both bills showed the same thing only the lower one showed 20% discount on parts and labour and no PST was charged. Boyd Autobody charged me $2229.48.

I spoke to Boyd Autobody the next day and they said I had to wait till Monday as this was saturday and no one was in.

On Monday they appologized and said to bring the car in wednesday and to leave it overnight. When questioned about the two bills for the transmission they just said I shouldn't have seen both of them. They didn't do the work on the transmission so why should they make almost $600.00 profit off of me??? I feel they should refund the difference back to me and no effort was made to do this. I was also told that the car had to be towed to a muffler shop to have two 90 degree kinks straightened in the exhaust system as they couldn't test it after the transmission was fixed till this was done. There was no bill for this work. How do I know that this wasn't the original problem and not the transmission. I got the car back on thursday and the work was done the car was clean but the Command Start still didn't work.

On Feb 13/07 I took the car to Best Buy and they told me that the whole system had been fried and needed to be replaced. Boyd Autobody admitted that they had to boost the car while in their possession and this type of thing has happened to them before. They gave the okay to go ahead and replace it and for me to pay it and they would reimburse me. It cost $397.60 and it took till March 9/07 to be reimbursed.

I had my car to my mechanic and found out the tierod on the front passenger side is broken and the balljoint on the left front is broken. This should have been found out when the all wheel alignment was done and wasn't.

I am totally dissatisfied with how I was treated and feel I should get a refund for the difference in the transmission bill as well as the tierod and balljoint.
