I had new tires put on my car, and when i returned that evening to pick the car up i noticed the 3 of the 4 aluminum rims were severely scratched in a circular pattern. I brought this to the attention of the service department and the man ignored me regarding the rims until the bill and price was taken care of. His only concern was me paying and not my damaged car! I refused to pay for the tires until i got an answer regarding the wheels, and i was very calm and cooperative about things at this point. He told me i could not take my car without paying now, and refused to do anything about the rims at that time.
So i told him i would return the next day to speak with the Service Manager and I took my car home that night, as i have thousands invested in the car, stereo, and parts, and i also needed my car to get to University the next day. Later that night he called the cops and insisted it was theft. I agree with this if i had taken the car with and everything was fine with it, but i don't agree with a company puting a lean on my vehicle when it's returned to me damaged! If you had your car painted by a company and they returned it with 4 broken windows would you pay for the paint!!! I highly doubt it.
Anyways, stay far from Canadian Tire, they have no regard for the customer, and they don't seem to know how to hire or train their staff. Shop at any small local shops in your area, but stay far far away from this money making machine that cares nothing about the consumer.
