Emirates Airlines notoriously losing my luggage!
Lost luggage Frequently

I was flying to Toronto from Mumbai on August 17th. EK501/EK241. For starters, it appears the BOM to Dubai flight is perennially late as it was delayed for me and a lot of people seemed to have similar experiences! I was not in any panic however as I had a 4 hour connection (10 am departure from Dubai).

After waiting around and flying for almost 22 hours and spending another hour looking for my luggage (the A380 can carry a motherlode!), I finally gave up - I could only find one of my cases! so I went to their counter to let them know (if indeed this bag was lost, this would have to be the 2nd time in as many times I have flown Emirates! (What are the odds of that!!). The folks at the counter immediately confirmed that my bag had indeed been spotted in Dubai (and I wasted an hour looking for my bag...) and that it would be delivered via the next Dubai to Toronto flight (2 days later). This was upsetting not only because it is a pain to not go home with your luggage but the fact that this was happening to me again and by none other than Emirates! I complained to the counter folks who flippantly suggested that I play the lottery or something because the odds of me losing my luggage twice in as many times I had flown were extremely rare! (not amusing at all... tired, upset and then such insensitive remarks). Anyway, wrote a letter to their Customer Affairs in Dubai requesting an explanation as to how they could lose my luggage when I had clearly seen it tagged in Mumbai, then they had 4 hours to load it on the right plane in Dubai and they still screwed up! After much back and forth... the final answer from CUSTOMER AFFAIRS (this is unbelievable!!! "They inadvertently left it behind in Dubai"... YES, that's the word (INADVERTENTLY..which means

1."not attentive; heedless.

2. of, pertaining to, or characterized by lack of attention.

Wow! This is a response from an airline that ferries 27 Million passengers a year... mindboggling indeed!
