NCO inquiry Ripoff

I had a unpaid with a cable company that was around $260 after long time pending they reported by bill to NCO.My Question to you guys is i have already paid the bill directly to the cable company. Will my Name be removed from their list or will i still have a bad credit rating.

Cable Company Guy said that it will be removed and will not effect my rating.

Any help will be helpful
