Global Countertop Systems, Zak Motala, Motala Marketing Group Inc
Are ripping people with false promises and products that do not work

Please beware of Zak Motala and his 'marketing group'. His business opportunity can be viewed at globalcountertops.com.

Their products do not work as promised. Many past dealers have had a high number of warranty claims and he cannot explain why the product is not working. He simply dismisses it to 'application error', meanwhile most are having problems. He covered his butt by having it in the contract he is not responsible for warranty claims, it's up to the dealers. (He will supply some product, but get this you have to place a $1, 500 order to get the warranty product!) Not only do the products not work well, his claims on installation times are unrealistic.

Many dealers are trying to get their money back for the 'exclusive territories' he has sold. Please beware before you buy products or territories.

If you are seriously considering buying any products or territories, consider the following beforehand:

- is he making you sign all kinds of papers before you even see the product - why?
- can you talk to ANY other dealers outside of BC? Can he provide a list of dealers to you so you can do some checking?
- ask him what the min. order is and why it is so high
- ask him how many countertops he has personally refinished and where he gets his claims on time to complete the project
- do research on other refinishing products and compare the prices. There are many companies out there..use google. Try Hawklabs, Midwest Chemicals, Integrity Coatings, NAPCO and many others all which seem to be more reputable.
- does he have any successful dealers for his other products such as Future Coat, Truck Liners, etc. If he tells you yes, ask to speak with them. They don't exist. He has never launched a successful product.
- ask to see the product before you sign papers. Ask if they have a sample kit you can purchase to see/work with the product before you make large $$ commitments. Many reputable companies offer this to win your business.
- if his products are so unique, ask if he has any patents. He will admit no but ask the reason why. If he does tell you yes, there are many free websites you can search to confirm.
- ask if any dealers have left his network. How many and why? At last count there were at least 6 if he tells you different beware.

Bottom-line the products he is selling don't work as well as promised and are overpriced when compared to other refinishing products already on the market. He smooth talks you into a sale and makes you sign all kinds of documents and IOUs, then intimidates you until you pay up AND tells dealers they don't have a right to talk to one another. After the contracts are signed, he no longer has to win your business (like normal businesses listed above) as you must purchase from him and only him.

BEWARE OF THIS SCAM! Many dealers lost money - don't do the same thing!!
