SportChek Richmond BC
Manager attitude

I purchased some merchandise at the SportChek store on 6551 No 3 Rd. Richmond. B.C. and when I was paying at the cashier the clerk offered me a $20 gift card promotion. I even asked the clerk what was the catch? She told me there was none. I also asked what happened if I decided to return the purchased items and she told me there was no problem. So I took the $20 gift card offer and paid the rest with my credit card. A fewweeks later I went back to the store to return the purchaed items and I was told by a new cashier that I wouldn't get the $20 in cash but I would get a $20 merchandise credit. The cashier who was actually not very friendly told me that I should read the term on the card but I told her that I wasn't given a card all I got was a $20 credit to my purchase. I asked to speak to the manager who basically repeated what the new cashier told me. Obviously I wasn't happy and I told the manager that he should train his staff properly that they should make any SUCH DISCLOSURE to the customers. He told that his staff has no time - note: the store was dead and I was the only customer there when I paid for my purchase on my 1st visit. Obviously the manager wasn't happy when I told him that he should train/coach his staff properly and he threatened that he could ask me to leave. I wasn't creating a scene and I was calm and reasonable and he was the one who raised his voice. So I asked him what ground for him to ask me to leave the store - he COULDN'T answer me. Is it the store policy to ask their customers to leave whenever the customers are unhappy with their service?? In any case I asked for his business card he told me he didn't have one so he simply wrote down only his FIRST name (BARRY) on a " How did we do today" card. Really?? This is the guy who represents the store/company?? The way I was treated I will never return to this merchant again with such a unprofessional and uncompetent manager. Are they not required to make the required disclosure to the customers?? If the company really cares about customer satisfaction (note: a lot of other companies DO) this is no way to treat a customer when really the fault lies solelywith the store management/employee. Such a BAD experience!!!
