I am a former employee of Vancouver Flower Co./Urbanflorist.com/Artisanflorist.com and I would advise consumers to stay well away from this company. The whole point of this organization is to exploit the floral industry as a means of defrauding customers. Their websites are deceptive and misleading--products are NOT as shown, rarely (if ever) sent on time and you will likely be charged far more than you are originally quoted, if in fact you actually even receive the product you ordered AT ALL. The information you provide to this company is NOT secure, in fact, the company had their credit card processing and bank accounts frozen in early December on suspicion of fraud. The information you provide--including credit card numbers--is widely available to any of the minimum wage, constantly overturning staff that is employed at this company.

If you do have a bad experience, good luck ever reaching an employee of this company to sort the problem out. Sales calls are all that is usually answered, and if you do get through to someone ever it is unlikely that the owner, ALIF SOMANI [phone:(604) 376-0410/(604) 677-2585/(604) 922-3224], will allow any of the employees to refund you. He operates under the ideology that if they make getting a refund difficult enough, customers will just forget it and go away. In fact, contact phone numbers have been completely removed from the Urbanflorist site pages all together, except in tiny font at the bottom, and they now offer "Live Chat" that is rarely available as a means of reaching help.

Seriously, call a LOCAL florist, do not give you money to these scheisters. More than 60% of the staff has quit due to the scamminess of this company, and it has been featured on not one but TWO news casts in Canada for it's horrifying business practices.

This company exists not to serve but to rip off, so please take the advice of people who know and stay FAR, FAR away. Most former staff have at this point given formal interviews to the Canadian Bureau of Consumer and Corporate Affairs/RCMP (federal police) with regards to the business practices of this company.

FTD should be ashamed of themselves for doing business with this company--don't line their pockets any further by ordering from Urbanflorist.
