I own a small roofing companie in Toronto, Ontario last year I have been contacted by a representative of Can Pages ....., I was just at the begining of my advertising experience and had no clue what I get myself into.
This sales person : So called Ken, promised me a lot of calls monthly.
I was told that the book is coming out in August of 2008 when in fact it comes out in November....., but the catch is that you have to pay for all the months in between .....when the book is still in printing.
To make a long story shorter ...... I have received 3 phone calls from Can Pages cutomers and I got One job that was worth 350$, After loosing 300$ a month by paying Can pages for 5 months I have stoped my payments to them,
Almost imidiatly they started the calls with the usual threats...., When I told them the story they said that ....THAT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM AND THAT IT'S MY PROBLEM, I SHOULD'VE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT WHEN SINGING THE CONTRACT.
I know it's sounds right!!!! but still, when oyu pay 3000$ for smething and you don't get anything for your money, its a little upseting.
I have offerd to pay something but they did not agree .....they want all the money.....
I guess The real tip here is ......: DO NOT ADVERTISE WITH THEM!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT EVEN GET YOUR OWN MONEY BACK ...... YOU WILL HARDLY GET A FEW CALLS, IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO PAY 1000$ PER CALL THEN BY ALL MEANS ......CAN PAGES IS YOUR COMPANIE.
