This company picked up my name from "monster.ca" and called me for an interview with David Turner - Director Resources And Career Development. Everything was more than all right and I have got an offer:
They would prepare me and do their own research through their "private" network (over 15000 companies from Canada and USA) and get me a job over my expectations with a very well known company (they mentioned names of top people from some of these companies/ Toronto Hydro, Cadbury, Ford and more/, connections, jobs, etc) for only $1, 250.00 GST.
I asked how come they know and have access to these people and this kind of information, the answer was that most of these people got in those companies through Career Corp.
D. Turner offered an Agreement as a sign of his goodwill, with a "commitment to provide world class services and achieve the results client expects", a dedicated Customer Care Line (toll free), and monitoring of the results.
This agreement would end if I would get a job on my own.
And that was about all. They rewrote my resume in a way that nobody was interested since, called me 1-2 times for follow up, even encouraged me to let them know about my job search.
I kept calling, I always had to leave a message, nobody got back to me, the Customer Care Line was another dead end.
I drove there and after a long waiting I met D Turner who explained to me that is just matter of time to find something that would really fit my qualifications
After 3 months another "director" called me to appologize that things got tight in the company because some of their HR people left, but reassured me that I was still on thei attention, very close to good results.
Of course nothing happened and I drove there again trying to get in and see somebody, I was not allowed to enter without an appointment and the security was called on me.
I came back and I wrote a letter to D Turner about all this story and I kindly asked him for the return of my money.
I never heard back from them.
The reason I report this facts is to warn other people in my situation, desperate to find a job, easy victims for this kind of crooks hiding behind corporate doors and probably behind some sort of legal interpretation.
As well as I could see I am not the only one, maybe we can get together and try to take legal action.
