In November of 2003 I paid Casa de Malahato for two boxes of cigars. I had bought through this store many times, and on many occasions I had spoken to Steven Mawdsley, the owner. CDM was never punctual on deliveries, but I continued to order through them anyway. I made a special arrangement with Steve (the owner) to pay for my order through two separate money orders. He said that after his company had been late shipping the goods so many times he would have no problem making a special arrangement with me. I have receipts of the two money orders, and I'll be willing to provide them if necessary.
After months of not receiving the goods for which I paid I called Steve and he offered me a full refund. Since then I have contacted him probably two or three dozen times about this issue. Every time he guarantees me a refund, but then he never delivers. I can, if necessary, provide e-mail transcripts of said guarantees.
I want people out there who are fans of ordering cigars online to stay away from Casa de Malahato, as I feel they've done nothing but scam me. They are, I believe, the top online cigar retailer located in Canada (they really try hard to get Americans to order from them), so chances are if one is a cigar fan then one will come across them. Buyer beware! At best they are derelicts and at worst they are swindlers.
