I got laid off from my job in January 2002. By May 2002, I was beginning to panic. I saw the Bernard Haldane ad and made it to the first interview. I knew these guys couldn't guarantee me a job, however, I thought they would be giving me the skillset, the inside track on getting a job. The interviewer, John Geisler made a whole bunch of promises saying that there'd be access to the company's huge database of contacts and a whole bunch of bullshit...
The way he was talking, it'd seem like I'd have the edge if I went through the program. He even trashed the resume that my outplacement counsellor, Right Management Consultants created for me.
I signed up and paid too much money for the crap that they taught. My career counsellor was basically a rookie who didn't have the experience necessary to run a resume writing workshop let alone and HR firm.
Let me tell you something, the resume Right Management created for me generating more interviews than the Bernard Haldane one.
Bernard Haldane is bullshit. I wouldn't even tell my enemy to use that service.
My regret is that I didn't see this site until it was well too late to cancel and get my money back.
