Wow! I'm so glad I'm not alone out there. I've been trying to get a refund from Bernard Haldane for well over a year with no luck. I even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau here in Vancouver but of course they ruled with Bernard Haldane as per the "signed contract" which states no refund.
At this stage I thought there was nothing else I could do. My story is exactly the same as all the others. I paid $3659.40 up front on my Visa because paying up front gave me a 10% discount! How stupid was I? When I orignally signed the contract I was working full time Monday to Friday. I explained to my "senior consultant", the salesperson that I could not come in on weekdays and that my appointments would have to be on the weekends.
I was told that Saturday appointments were not a problem. Of course when I met my advisor he said that weekend appointments were very difficult to get and that I would have to book them months in advance! So we tried "over the phone" meetings and they were completely unproductive.
I was given assignments but very little guidance. I hadn't even made it to the resume "stage" yet when I requested a refund. Of course they refused. If anyone has any suggestions on what to do now I would really appreciate it!
