Euro-Pro Vacuum Cleaner
Poor product and horrible customer service

To Whom It may Concern,

This is my second complaint that I have had to submit. Do these complaints fly into cyber space as no one has answered my first email. I should hope that someone will have the decency to answer the second one. As this about products and CUSTOMER SERVICE, I would think that someone would be in contact right away. After all you DO have my email address.

August 26, 2006 I went to your store at 825 Eglinton Ave E and I bought a euro-pro vacuum, which was on sale for $74.99. I was very happy with it until April, 2007 when it died. I took it back to the store and got a replacements. I asked the person about the warranty, as it is only 1 year. He told me that the warranty would start again from the time I got the replacement. Off I went home and then in October of 2007 the replacement died. I took it back to the store on Nov.3/07 and the person there told me that the warranty had run out, and I asked to speak to a manager. This person came over and told me there was nothing she could do and I explained to her that this was the replacement and what the other person had said about the warranty starting again. She said no that is not the way it works, and another girl there said that if they did that people could bring things back for 10 years and keep getting new products, implying that I am a thief or scam artist which I AM NOT. The the manager said you will have to call the company. I asked if she had a number. She let out a big sigh and rolled her eyes and came back about 5 minutes later with the number.

That was extremely poor service, as she spoke to me as I was nothing. I am a paying customer, so she works for me, because if you had no customers she would have no job.

Just to let you know, before I purchased the euro-pro, the vacuum cleaner I had lasted me 12 years. With this product I went through 2 in just over 1 year. The product (or at least the 2 I had were defective, as I only vacuum the apartment twice a month.) Is it Canadian Tires policy to NOT stand behind the products they sell?

As I have has so many problems with the product and the horrible customer service I am requesting that I be reimbursed for the amount of the vacuum cleaner. $74.99 plus tax.

I have been in customer service for 30 years and never have I treated a client in the manner I was treated.

I expect a reply within the coming week. And I also expect my refund.
