Poor customer service / product support

I first emailed product support and days later called the Manufacturer of the Noma Backup Power System 1800 I purchaed from Canadian Tire June 28, 2008 to see how I could get non warranty service or parts to needed for repair. I received and auto response that my email would be responded to promptly. 2 business day later no response... I replayed via email asking for info and still no reply. I then tracked down their customer service number, which is well hidden, and called. I was passed to a different number and they put on hold several times until the "right person" could help. There only help was " plug something in to drain the battery... if it doesn't recharge then it's the charger and it isn't Worth replacing because the cost of repair was higher than the cost of the unit. And since I was past the 1 year warranty exchange there was no other option than to buy a new one. I asked I could speak to a customer service manager who may have more ability to help and was told "she's in a meeting but would call me back" I got her name, Mariana Ionacu, but never received as return call. Based on this I would think that Xantrex is only interested in selling it's sub quality products hidden behind store brands like Noma and not providing responsible customer service or product support. So, Buyer Beware of any Xantrex / Schneider Electric made product, because if you do, you're on your own.
