I sent a large amount of jewelry to Dollars for Gold in November 2010 and received a check for next to nothing. A called was made and my jewelry was requested to be returned. I was informed it would take from 6-8 weeks to process the request. I called them in April 2011 to see where my jewelry was and I was told that it had been melted down. They offered me a check for a small portion which I figured would be better than nothing. The check was to be received within 2 weeks. It is now early May and I have heard nothing. Will be calling in the morning to see if I can find out what is going on.
MY ADVICE IS "DO NOT SEND THEM ANYTHING - IT IS A SCAM - AND PLEASE ADVISE YOUR FRIENDS ALSO. i will also be filing a complaint with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU OF ONTARIO AND LOOKING INTO SMALL CLAIMS COURT.
