Watch out for this apparent scam. The last paragraph in the letter states, "Please do not attempt to use this check until you call. You are advised to contact your claim agent immediately for further clarification as indicated below within 5 business days."
They say I actually won $250, 000. However, the $4980 check is for the payment of applicable Government Taxes on my big winnings. They say my tax amount that I will owe is $2995.00 US Dollars and they want me to pay it via Moneygram or Western Union.
The scammers aren't very smart. Taxes would be well over $80, 000.
