I received a check for $4996.00 in an envelope mailed from Canada with no return address. I was told I was chose to be a Mystery Customer and help Shopping Evaluation Inc. gather information about their business in order toimprve customer service.
The letter enclosed was very fake looking. I did some investigating on the internet and found the following news article explaining how this scam works. You can find the artical at TimesUnion.com https://www.timesunion.com/ASPStories/Story.asp? StoryID=739023&Category=REGION&LinkFrom=RSS&TextPage=1.
Shopping Eval Inc. asks you to deposit the check in your account.By the time the bank finds the check is a forgery, your check has been cleared of funds. Please warn anybody that receives unmarked mail with a check that is too good to be true! Nothing is for FREE!
