Earlier this week I received a poorly designed letter contained in an envelope with no return address from SKY Financial Services, INC located in Alberta, Canada. Contained within was a check for $4, 530 USD to pay supposed "Non Resident Government Service Tax" and a letter informing me I was one of many winners in a "Compensation Draw" for $250, 000.00, the letter went on to advise me to contact a tax agent in order to begin the collection processes. Although it did not take long for me to discover identical scams:

a new company name "SKY Financial Services" and holding bank "Union Bank of Chandler" was used, which I believed warranted an entry in these forums. Following is the information in the letter:
