I also received a letter from Clearing & Forwarding Center on August 4th 2008 . It has most of the same info as the other letters. It goes on to say that the 2008 North American Sweepstakes Lottery held on June 25th made me a winner. I was one of 10 declared winners to share 1.2 million dollars.
My share was 125 thousand that I had to pay taxes on. I got a check for $4980 and that all but $1000 was supposed to be sent somewhere by moneygram or western union, to pay the taxes on the winnings and that I would be getting my money after i called Julia Clark.
I did not call Julia Clark because i knew this was a scam. I tried to find the bank phone number so i could get a verification of the check and to check the numbers on the check but was given a Bagel shop phone number instead of what was supposed to be Chase Manhattan Bank Delaware. Needless to say, how would i win a lottery in Canada and how did they get my address. Someone is selling information through the internet. Just like they sell our phone mumbers to telemarketers & surveyers.
Be wary everyone. If its not its not real!
