After being solicitated on the job site to sign up for this gym, I joined. Unfortunately, due to project timelines, I never got to go, but, being an honest person, sucked it up for teh 12 months I signed on for. Imagine my surpirse when I found after an annual review of my bank statements, they were still debiting me after expiry. After informing my bank, that Fitness One was not authorized, I am charged $10 each month I place it, by teh way, I also called Consumer Protection who tell me Fitness One is using a renewal clause (probably) and unless they contact teh consumer 30 to 90 days before teh contract ends advising them they can renew or cancel and how to do it, they were in breach. I called teh gym, was treated very snottily by teh receptionist who told me I had to go in person to cancel, that I sent a registered letter. This resulted in a call by the 'manager' Diana who says I write very well, speak very well, so obviously I would have read the contract before signing it? The phoen call deteriorated very quickly, I hung up rather than sling insults back and forth, and I am in teh modst of filing Consumer COmpolaint to our Canadian Agency as well I will go to Samll Claims Court to recover my amounts since my letetr of demand was ignored, and I can reach no person at the Head Office. Another person i spoke to says she encountered the same thing with teh same gym, very annoying. I will never join another gym again.
