I received a letter from Waterhouse Financial, Inc. stating that I had won the North Mega Sweepstakes, and would be receiving $250, 000.00 US dollars. Also included was a check for $4880.00
After calling Mr. Bob Morris, I was instructed by him to deposit the check and call him back, which I did.
I was then told to send $2985.00 to a Mrs. Deborah James to pay the Canadian national income tax by Western Union. I did.
He then called me back, stating that he had just found out I also had to pay their state tax, $1600.00. I sent that amount by Western Union. Including the Western Union fees, I had now withdrawn $4834.00.
After being told that my money was on its way, he called me again, stating that he had just found out I would have to pay a customs fee of $1800.00, and I needed to send that by Western Union immediately. At this point I told him this sounded like a scam. He became upset, stated he would not risk losing his license. When I told him that I could not find his company on the Internet, he advised me to go to TD Waterhouse, that they were a part of that company. When I called TD Waterhouse and explained what had happened, they said that they had received other calls about this, and that Waterhouse Financial was not connected to them.
PLEASE help me track this rat down and see that he gets what he deserves! Looks like I am on the hook for $4834.00, which I do not have just lying around.
