RICOH SWEEPSTAKES BONANZA DRAW NOTIFICATION
, YELLOW PAGES FAKE CHECK SCAM

I received a letter from "RICOH" in a yellow envelope with no return address and stamps from Cananda. Enclosed was a letter saying I had won their "Wheel of Fortune Sweepstakes Bonanza."

Eclosed was a "Surety Bond Purchase Requisition Form" and two very real looking cashiers checks. One for $21, 741.00 and one for $2, 380.00. Drawn on Prosperity Bank in St. Augustine, FL and the other on Suntrust Bank in Atlanta, GA.

The contact numbers on the letters ring but there is no answer only a machine. I was very wary of this and almost immediately knew it was a scam. I can really see how they get people because the checks and letter look very real. Be careful! Never deposit any check that you are not expecting to receive. I'm not sure how the scam plays out in the end, but I'm assuming they will ask you to send some of your own funds to cover fees associated with the prize and then you find the checks bounce after you've sent them your money.
