My husband and I seem to receive a lot of these... at least once a month from various places... Mostly Africa!!!..I don't know why we get them, but we do. Anyway, I'm really fed up with them, and I know that somewhere someone is actually believing this crap. SO!!! For this particular one that I received today, I looked up the company... B&S Hosiery... no such place that I could find. On the check, which like everyone elses, looks real... the company name was stated as Hosiery Plus (This is a real establishment). OK... so my next trick... to call the bank that is listed on the check. Apple Bank for Savings located in NY. I gave them a call to inform them that someone was writing fraudulent checks from this bank... the customer service rep. knew right away when I said B&S hosiery and said that there was no such company with an account there and that yes, the checks were forgeries. He thanked me for my concern and information on the use of his bank. NEXT..I made my husband call the number given to "CLAIM" the prize... he could hardly keep from laughing when the guy gave him the instructions..and when my husband asked if this was a scam... very enthusiastically the man said NO... NO... of course not... congratulations. This guys name was DAVID ADAMS and gave the address of Montreal, Quebec, Can. 1116 Sant Catherines East. Of course the phone number is traceable as a land line to Alberta Canada. However, the Alberta address could not even be found on mapquest much less any reputable business.

I'll be glad when someone can get these mails stopped... really takes up my time trying to kick 'em down!!!
