Future Com Usa had called me sometime in the beginning of December of 2005 stating that they have a promotional offer I might be interested in. The person I was speaking to stated that I would receive an intel pentium 4 computer and $1000 gift certificate for use "anywhere" on the internet. She said that with the computer I will have to sign a 1 year contract for Earthlink internet access but if I cancel within a month I don't have to pay anything and I keep the computer.
I paid $299 for this promotion. 3 days later I went on the internet on your site and found out that everything I was told was a lie. The site stated that I have to sign a 1 year contract with Earthlink and if I cancel I have to return the computer. Also the I found out that the gift certificate can only be used on one site, KESHOPPINGSPREE.
I called and requested a refund and was told that I would be sent a refund letter in the mail in 2 to 3 weeks. 3 weeks later, It never came. I called again, once again they said that I would receive a refund letter in the mail to sign and send back for a refund in 2 to 3 weeks. 3 weeks later, received nothing.
I called again, this time someone e-mailed over the refund letter. I signed it and tried faxing it back to the number provided. It wouldn't go through. I confirmed the number 3 times. It never went through. So I called and confirmed the address and sent the letter. Never received a response. So I called again and rep. told me that they had not received it, So I sent it again. Waited 3 weeks again and nothing happened. Called again and was told that I would be put on the refund list and that I would receive a refund in 2 to three weeks. 3 weeks later nothing.
I called again and was told that Future Com is experiencing problems but that I would I receive a refund in 2 to 3 weeks. 3 weeks later I still have nothing. It will be an year soon. I have also filed a complaint with BBB in Ontario but they couldn't take any agressive action. I also called Phone Busters and they have 20 similar cases with teh same company. I have come across 10 other people in a message board with the same situation. Unfortunatley I don't have the money for a Lawyer but if there was a large group of people say a 100, we coudl definetley sue this company get our money back. Maybe even mroe for all the frustration they caused.
