I recieved 2 letters in the same envelope notifying me that I have won a lottery which was divided between 30 people. There is a check for $3, 300.00 to be deposited and used for surchage expenses. The check looks legit and is from Centrix bank, Bedford Newhampshire. The envelope was hand written, there are repeat numbers in the lottery numbers drawn, dates are missing. The letter head says Vegas online, given 7 days to respond. I did not fall for this and reported it to my bank. They said that another person was in the proccess of depositing the check and stopped them. This sounds similar to the Hampshire scam reported in this site. I have reported it to the Centrix bank and also the Nova Scotia authority. For people that are taken in by these scams its a dirty shame. The bank rep I talked to said the check is legit, but, the risk in cashing it are great. I also did not play the lottery. You would think that would be a first hint to people that its not real. Lets stop them from hurting people.
