Consumer's Reward Program Lottery

I recently received a letter in the mail stating that I was a winner in the Consumer" reware Program Lottery. With the letter there was a check for $3800.00

There was a number to call. I called the number and they told me to deposit the check into my bank account on Monday, give the check time to clear the bank and then call them back on Wednesday and the rest of my winnings would come to me by FedEx.

I was skeptical, so when I went to the bank on Monday I had the teller check to see if the check was any good. It had the water marks just like a real check. When she made a copy it came up void like a real check. However when she looked up the account number it didn't match up with the bank the check was from.

Her supervisor said that they had a similar check come through and it turned out to be a fraud.

I tried calling the people who sent the check and it seems their voicemail is full and can't receive any more messages.

So if anyone gets one of the letters throw it away. I also noticed that the return address on the envelope was a P.O. box. and on the check was People's Bank Connecticut. There was no address for the bank.
