Got a letter stating my wife had won $750, 000.00 and even had a check for $2900 for the "winnings tax" paid to Canada officials as per a discussion with Mr. Eric North, called at 1-888-634-5613. He told her that she needed to put the check into her account and then send a moneygram to them for the amount of the check, then the 750000 would be released to her and the TV crew would then come and interview us as the winners of the Canadian version of the Publishers Clearinghouse. Upon my suspcious mindset, I had her open an account and deposit it, and await the check clearing. The Mr North guy called her two days in a row asking when and where she had done the processing of the check.
He then told her to draw out "at least part of it" some 1000-1500 and send that much and then the 750000 would then be released to her. I then became more concerned, and found this website and discovered how someone else had a siomilar dealing with this Mr. North. I also have a number fot the supposed IRS man, a Mr. Robert Taylor. This is a scam if I ever heard of one, and I hope people will learn from this near miss and loss, and throw this letter in the trash, where it truly belongs. Everything has a price, but the price shouldn't change, and the company should at least be able to tell you something about themselves. Please be aware of this to avoid getting hurt.
