North American Publishers Clearinghouse???!!! Yeah... they are in the business of publishing bad checks! They steal someone's check from the mail and 'wash' it to leave only the company, bank account information and signature, then print who knows how many checks with different amounts, and check #'s payable to various people. The scam is to have this poor soul cash the check, keep a percentage and some the rest back to NAPC in Canada.
It may be a 'sweepsteaks" or a shopping gag, but they send you a check that you cash and wire them some money back. Of course the check bounces and the money you wired ahead is taken from your bank account.
