My husband and I received a call saying we were pre-approved for a loan in the amount of $5000. Ms Audrey Brooks told us they needed a down payment of 4 months for collateral in the amount of $896 and $79 to western union it to them. She said the money would be deposited into our account in 2 days on January 27, 2003. It is now been almost 3 weeks now and haven't received our money back as of today, February 13, 2003.
I have called several times and left messages with them and she has only returned a phone call with in this time promising us our money would be sent back. I have called them and threatened them I will take them to court or go to see them in person. I cant believe people would do this to hard working people as all of us are.
I contacted the Attorney General in my state and they gave me a help full number to canada authoritys to report it. If anyone has given these people there ss# and bank account numbers you'll have to call the credit bureau to have a security alert on you ss# and change your bank account number as these people who do this FRAUD crap will try to use them. I hope they catch them and if it ever happens, we all get our money back. Good luck.
