Adam Freedman & Of Toronto Sells Junk Parts & Refuses To Honour His Warranty Adam Freedman of HiTech Recycling refused to refund me for selling a junk motherboard, then tried to intimidate me into not pursuing the issue with Visa (Downsview)

This was a nightmare of a sale. I bought a replacement motherboard for an old PC I had. It was a used board so my only real concern was "does this thing work? ". Adam guaranteed that the board was in good working order so I bought it. When it came in, it did boot (barely), but none of the onboard hardware (ie sound, ethernet, onboard SATA) worked. I downloaded all the drivers, but the board would not recognize any additional hardware. When I called ASUS and went over the issues with them, I was told the BIOS was most likely fried and that they no longer manufactured BIOS chips for those older boards.

When I first tried to contact Adam, he would not even return my messages. I was told I could contact Visa regarding the transaction so I did, then Visa contacted him... and you know what? I finally got a response.

He told me, he would sell me a Sata Card, ethernet & soundcard for about what I paid for the board ($100). I told him I just wanted a working board not to buy a bunch of additional stuff (that could very well be garbage also) and would take up my room for expansion cards. Not only that, but for $200 I might aswell buy a new board and forget the process of having a used defective board.

He told me there was nothing he WOULD do, not could, but WOULD. So I said fine and contacted Visa again, they told me to ship the board back to him expedited so it could be tracked back to him to verify that the merchandise had been returned. When this happened Visa granted me my refund and this is where the fun started...

I received threatening phone calls for about a week saying that if I didn't pay him back for the board he'd do all sorts of sick things to me & my wife. I couldn't beleive it, so I contacted the Police and told them about it. After that I never heard from him again.

But this man is Sick, he has psychological issues and will stop at nothing to rip you off if it makes him a dollar.

Hopefully by reading this I've saved you the hell I went through.
