I ran an ad on Craig's List for a position wanted as a live in companion, caregive and/or house sitter.
It was answered by a "Faith Collins" who said she was from Canada and had just lost her mother who had lived in Orange County. She said she was traveling between the U.S. and Canada where her business is located and needed someone to watch the house in Orange County while she was gone and to "mind" her business here, someone who would cash checks through their bank and send her the cash by money gram. She said I would not have to do the business, only the house sitting, so I said okay. She pressed me to give her my personal information and would not even give me a general idea of where the home was but sent a picture supposedly of her and the home, which later became and "apartment." (guess she forgot) I said I would do the business part but was not going to use my bank account, and that she could find another way to do it if she wanted me to help her with the business. I haven't heard from her since. I am suspicious that this e even came from Canada. This smacks of the kind of scams that come out of Nigeria because of the use of the English language, the misspellings, etc. I also doubt the photos were of her or the so-called apartment. I did not fall for the scam and would like to warn others that she and more like her are out there waiting to pounce on your sincere ads.
