Toronto optometrist, Gordon Ng (located on the main floor of ChinaTown Center, (416) 971-5180) goes hand-by-hand with the Just Eyes Optical (his family members Eyeglasses store, also located inside the ChinaTown Center, https://www.justeyesoptical.com/) makes a killing together.
The story starts as my mom needed for an eye exam because she is suffering from diabetes. On May 3rd, 2008, my mom was sitting at Dr. Gordon Ng office for an eye exam and had been waiting there for 4 hours as seeing other patients in-and-out before she finally got her chance for her eye exam, because my mom was told that she didn't make an appointment prior to the visit.
As it finally came to the time for my mom, Dr. Gordon Ng voluntarily offered my mom a free eye exam as maybe he felt sorry for my mom who waited 4 hours to see him. It first seems like a good deed of his, but it turned out that it was not quite true as my mom was denied to have her own eye prescription slip when the exam finished. Instead, Dr. Gordon Ng said will send her prescription to Just Eyes Optical (https://www.justeyesoptical.com/) and said she can have her eyeglasses there. (My mom has never asked for a free eye exam and she was prepared to pay the full service all time)
As it goes on, my mom was unwilling but had to pick up her eyeglasses from the Just Eyes Optical (https://www.justeyesoptical.com/) on Mar 4th, 2008 and paid $105 for a pair of no-name branded eyeglasses, which the letters on the side leg has already been fading away in less than one week. And not to mention that she was denied again for asking a copy of her own eye prescription as was told that she didn't pay for the exam, so she couldn't have it. Therefore, my mom up till to date still has not the chance to seeing her own prescription nor knowing what her prescription says.
I just want to share a story of mom's experience with Dr. Gordon Ng. I probably appreciate the free exam from Dr. Gordon Ng offered to my mom, but I do highly doubt the practice of Dr. Gordon Ng, who could hide the prescription from his patient, especially in Toronto, Canada.
