I purchased a Toshiba Tv, back in November 2006. Beside the price of TV, I also paid $ 369.99 plus tax (more then $400) for a Performance Service Plan (PSP). Now after 2 years and a half, a lamp burned out. I called the repair center and someone came over. He asked me to pay $ 270.00, telling me that the lamp is not covered under PSP. When I purchased this plan, nobody informed me of the exceptions, more then that you can see on their site also, how they are saying is all covered.
I called Best buy's head office and they are telling me that this is my responsibility to check and replace the lamp and they are trying to convince me the lamp is the same as a bulb or a battery. I don't think you can compare a $ 270. 00 lamp with a bulb that you may purchase at the dollar store. More then that on the lamp is marked clearly that it contains Mercury. How safe is that to be changed by a non professional person
