My friend and I went to Sam's Club today at Brock and Hwy 2 and we were approached by a small Italian young man (in his late 20's early 30's, short dark hair, 5ft 4 - 5", with a disfigured left hand) driving in a nice black Chrysler Pacifica. He was wearing a nice pinstripe dark suit. He said he did't know much English. He spoke with an Italian accent. He told us he needed help on how to get to the airport. We gave him directions to the airport. He thanked us and then explained to us that he was a businessman in the fashion industry and that he is in town on a business trip. He said he was going back home to Italy today and that he has jackets and a suit left over from a show.
He showed us the "Reportage Giorgio Armani" jackets and a black pin stripe suit. He had one 3/4 length black leather jacket, one brown suede, and a regular length black leather jacket with a removable fox fur collar. He assured us that it was authentic RGA. He said he would give us the jackets plus a woman's 3/4 length suede jacket for free if we would pay the manufacture's price for the suit for $1200 Cdn. He said he didn't want to pay taxes at the airport for the merchandise, so he was offering it to us for a "very good deal". I was reluctant but he then showed us his Italian passport & airplane ticket. He was very convincing and seemed genuine. Thinking that the jackets were authentic, I thought it was a good deal. The suit looked nice and fit me perfectly (he made me try on the suit jacket), the jackets were real leather/suede. In short, I ended up giving him $500 for the suit and 3 jackets. He didn't include the woman's jacket.
He said for $100 more, he would give me the woman's jacket. I declined. We talked some more told me that he has a wife in Sweden doing business too. He told me his name was Peppe and proceeded to give me his name, phone number, address and e-mail to reach him if I'm ever in Milan. When I got home, I told my wife. She agreed that the suit and jackets looked nice, but was skeptical. She searched the internet for RGA products and then found your site with identical stories. I can't believe I was scammed!!! I should have at least paid less than what i have paid! My wife and I will actually report this to the authorities.
