I have joined IPIU/International Private Investigators Union about 4 years ago. They advertised in a local paper for becoming a private investigator trainee to make up to $50.000 a year. I signed up and paid a fee and did everything they asked me to do. They sent me a training manual to study so I can take a test. I passed the test and they asked me to sign a phony code of ethics.
I was suppose to be refered to a private investigative agency in my area after I completed the test. They also told me to get a phone beeper so they can reach me when they call. I waisted money buying one and it cost me more to get it activated but they never called. Time went by and I called them by phone and I also asked them questions on thier forum on thier web site but they could never give me a strait answer. I never got the benifits that they advertised after you join but they sure like to keep pushing you into buying a phony badge for $90.00.
What good is the badge if you do not have a job first? They will lie to you in every way they can. They say that they have a good record with the BBB but I found out that this is a lie also. I contacted the BBB in Canada and they told me that they have no knowledge of this company. For anyone who wants to becaome a private investigator I would strongly advise you not to sign up with this ripoff company.
